OurCoop welcomes shoppers to new Houghton Regis store with golden ticket prizes for the first 50 shoppers

OurCoop is opening a new local Food store on Thursday 24th September in Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire, bringing a new local shopping offering to residents of the growing Linmere residential development.
The 3,000 square foot site will employ 15 people from the local area and will offer the community access to a convenient range of everyday groceries, including fresh fruit and veg, an in-store bakery, meat, chilled food and a selection of frozen ready meals from COOK, as well as a host of food-to-go options.
To mark the grand opening on Thursday 24th September, the first 50 customers in the queue at 9am will receive a Golden Ticket, with every ticket guaranteeing a prize. Lucky customers could win prizes including a luxury hamper, champagne, wine, flower bouquets and a travel voucher worth £100. There will also be a lucky dip for children.
The store will be opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony conducted by former Mayor Cllr Michelle Herber, on behalf of the Town Council.
There will be opportunities for customers to sample some of OurCoop’s new and best-selling products from Thursday 24th to Saturday 26th September, including items from the in-store bakery and Fairtrade chocolate and wine in celebration of Fairtrade Fortnight. All members will receive a 10% discount every time they shop, valid until 3rd October.
The new store, open from 7am to 10pm each day, forms part of the Linmere development, providing a convenient shopping option for local residents as the new community continues to grow. Customers will also have access to parking, cycle hoops and a defibrillator located outside the store.
