FuneralCoop Bloxwich funeral home officially re-opens following major refurbishment

FuneralCoop, part of OurCoop’s family of businesses, is pleased to announce the official re-opening of its Bloxwich funeral home in the West Midlands following a comprehensive programme of refurbishment and regeneration designed to further comfort bereaved families, improve colleague working environments, and strengthen community provision.
The upgraded funeral home was officially re-opened by Darryl Smith of the National Association of Funeral Directors, who cut the ribbon in the presence of local celebrants, representatives from places of worship, community groups, Board Members and colleagues from across the OurCoop network.
The transformation of the Bloxwich site reflects FuneralCoop’s continued commitment to delivering dignified, high-quality care in welcoming, modern surroundings. The refurbishment programme addressed both essential building works and wider enhancements to improve the overall customer and colleague experience.
Key improvements include:
- Fully upgraded the mortuary area
to ensure– always ensuring the highest standards of care - Created a flexible new community room for local use, family meetings, and pre-paid funeral planning appointments
- Added a new office space to improve day-to-day support for families and colleagues
- Built a new colleague kitchen and rest area to improve comfort and wellbeing
- Replaced furniture and fittings in client areas to create a warmer, more welcoming environment
- Installed energy-efficient LED lighting throughout the building to reduce energy use
- Refreshed and redecorated the interior to improve comfort and make visits feel more calming and supportive
The refurbished Bloxwich funeral home now offers improved private arrangement rooms and a dedicated multi-use space for community use, including bereavement coffee mornings and local support activities. These spaces are designed to ensure the funeral home continues to serve not only as a place of care and arrangement, but also as a supportive community resource.
