Central England Co-operatives Double Food Store Celebration in Derby

Central England Co-operative opened the doors to its brand new food store at Kedleston Road, Derby today, Friday 10 June. Pupils from Portway Junior School supported the celebration, along with VIP Rammy the ram, Derby Country Football Club mascot.
The opening of the brand new food store at Kedleston Road has created 20 jobs in the community and offers a wide range of products and services to meet the needs of local residents. The stores fixtures and fittings include the latest in energy efficient refrigeration to minimise environmental impact and LED lighting.
The Society also celebrated the relaunch of its food store in Duffield, after considerable investment to enhance the shopping experience for its member and customers.
Kedleston Road Co-operative Store Manager, Gail Wright, said:
“We are delighted to be able to showcase our new food store to our members and customers and were equally delighted to be able to welcome 26 pupils from Portway Junior School, along with Rammy the ram.
“We’ve had a great launch day with lots of positive comments made by customers. As part of our launch celebrations, 50 lucky shoppers received a golden ticket, product giveaway. We provided in store bakery tastings, talked to customers about membership and how we can support the local community with our Community Dividend Fund.
“We are all looking forward to becoming a valued part of the local community and getting to know our customers and neighbours, so please come and visit the store and pick up some fabulous products this summer.”
The Kedleston Road Co-operative store is open from 7am – 10pm every day. The store offers a wide range of products from everyday necessities to something a little more special. The store offer includes: fresh and local fruit and vegetables, an in-store bakery offering breads and pastries, chilled beers and wines, fresh and frozen product, Truly Irresistible product ranges, Costa coffee, Bake and Bike and a great selection of food to go.
The store also offers; Paypoint, Collect Plus, Lottery, foreign currency and a free cash machine.
The Duffield Co-operative store is open 7am – 10am Monday – Saturday and 8am – 10pm on a Sunday. The store has a wide range of products from everyday necessities to something a little more special. The store offer includes: fresh and local fruit and vegetables, an in-store bakery for breads and pastries, chilled beers and wines, Costa coffee, fresh and frozen product and Truly Irresistible product ranges.
The store also offers; Paypoint, Collect Plus, Lottery and a free cash machine.
